The Passchendaele V3 Bouldering Festival is a celebration of Bouldering that brings the climbing community together over an action packed 2.5 day event. Expect high-quality granite bouldering, food, and entertainment - just 3 hours from Brisbane!

Bouldering will take place in the Passchendaele State Forest, which is situated about 15km from Stanthorpe and contains thousands of granite boulders. Recent efforts by a dedicated team of climbers have seen this area develop into one of Australia's premier bouldering destinations, now with it’s own bouldering guide.

The festival site is located on private property right in the heart of the most heavily developed bouldering sectors. Once at the festival, access to all designated sectors is just a short stroll down the road.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Bouldering takes place in Passchendaele State Forest which is jointly managed by National Parks and HQ Forestry. Camping is on private land. We are privileged to be able to boulder and host a festival in this area, it is not a right. So that we may continue to utilise this area, participants are reminded of the Leave No Trace Ethic. http://www.lnt.org.au/

7 PRINCIPLES OF LEAVE NO TRACE

More substantive information on each of the principles is contained in the Skills and Ethics booklet – Australian edition

In addition to the above, for bouldering this means adhering to the following guidelines:

  • Minimise impact by sticking to designated paths

  • Do not destroy the vegetation (if scrubbing is required do not remove plants ie ferns, orchids from boulders).

  • If chalk is required, use it sparingly

  • Do not mark or number boulders with chalk or other substances

  • Do not crap in the forest (find the closest porta-loo and make a deposit in it)

  • Take all rubbish out with you
