Been bouldering in an indoor climbing gym and you are trying to find a way to get outdoors?    During this activity we will teach you the skills required to boulder outdoors with confidence and flair,  Your qualified guide will teach you fundamentals of bouldering outdoors and get you on some suitable problems to start your outdoor bouldering adventure. During the activity we will move to different boulders and areas within Toohey Forest.

- Boulder mat placement

- How to find a boulder problem

- Outdoor boulder grade overview

- Topping out 

- Leave no Trace Ethic


Time/Duration:

3 hours. This activity runs from 7:30am to 10:30am

Meeting Location:

Toohey Forest Picnic Area, Toohey Ridge Track, Nathan.

Toohey forest is located approximately 10km south of Brisbane City.

Inclusions:

All equipment required ie boulder mats (we will be working in team of 3 or 4 people per boulder problem (ie 1 climb min 2 or 3 spotters)

Climbing Shoes if you do not already own a pair (please bring socks)

Our guides:

Our awesome guides are highly trained, fully accredited, and heaps of fun! They’ll walk you through to prime bouldering locations, as well as providing boulder mats, shoes, and all other safety equipment. The kids will need a water bottle and snacks, appropriate clothing, and enclosed shoes for getting around the crag.

Safety:

Spotting is how we keep our friends safe as they climb, and learning this skill is an important part of climbing. At the start of the session, our guides will teach or refresh spotting skills.

The Fine Print:

  • Minimum and Maximum numbers apply per activity

  • All participants (including spotters) require a waiver. If participants are under 18 this needs to be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Minimum age to participate is 15 years of age.

  • All activities are subject to minimum and maximum numbers to run. You will have the option to move to the next date

  • In the event of wet weather, the session will be rescheduled.
